Skeletal Animation

Hi, I was wondering when the skeletal animation feature is going to be added to VoxelShop?

It is already a great program, but this would make it so much better :)

I wish I could allocate more time to this, but unfortunatelymy other projects and my work also take up a lot of time. Plus there is some work to be done before I can start integrating the animation system (I have a prototype working).

My hope is that you'll be able to animate in the program at the end of the year. And export animations sometime next year.

Programming unfortunately takes an enormous amount of time...

Thanks for the update mate :)

I appreciate the fact that programming takes time as I also do programming.

What language are you writing VoxelShop in, Java?

If so, I might be able to help as I am a good programmer (Object Pascal mainly), I know OOP, and have been learning Java for a bit now.

Hey Paul,

I'm not sure how much spare time you have :) However my estimate here is something around 200 hours (without the animation exporter). Also, while the code itself is sufficiently documented, there is no overview read-me file yet.

If that doesn't scare you we should have a Skype conversation to get you started sometime :) And yes, it's Java.
